Whats up

Yesterday my teammate and I rode an hour and a half out to a group ride to get some faster paced riding in with others. When we rolled up to the start I noticed that the whole Rock Racing Team was there. A side from the usual names you would look out for such as Rahsahaan, Kayle, Sterling etc. The other riders to watch on this ride/race were Tyler Hamilton, Victor Hugo Pena, Oscar Sevilla, Freddie Rodriguez, Batero amongst some other strong riders. This made for a fast paced ride. A good example is the first mile of the group ride was ridden at 35mph. I was asked by one of the team directors to get my prescribed workout in during the ride without showing my strength yet to the various riders in the group. So I figured if I sat towards the back and worked the climbs than by the end of the climb I would be with the front split and not show anyone too much, this worked for the most part. There were a couple times where some riders in front of me dropped a wheel or two so this made my work a bit harder, but this was fine since there was not ceiling on how hard I was allowed to ride.
The group ride ended at the top of what is referred to as 7 minute climb. from there the fast pace is shut off and all the guys ride back to where ever they started or are living. So Aron (teammate) and I are riding back to his Apt. just about 25 meters off the back of a group of riders that began the trek back to town just before us. While we are riding up a hill past some house I look over as I hear this little boy say to his dad "look those bike riders" and I think to myself wow that kid got excited to see cyclist that is awesome, just as I am thinking this he finishes his statement with "they are last". This makes me smile even more and I say to myself in a soft voice yes that is correct. After a couple of minutes we catch up with the riders on one of the climbs and their team cars get in front and behind us as we begin the next 15 minutes of descending, just as we are about to get to the bottom of the descent one of the riders directly in front of me and Aron gets a front flat and he is able to save it with quite a bit of skill seeing as it was on the apex of the turn at about 30-35mph. Good thing too seeing as he was on his brand new rig.
Today was another day of rain, so this meant that the group rides around town would not have many people so I decided, to go and do repeats on a climb called Mandville. This is about 5miles long with an average gradient of about 4-7%. Allowing or a long gradual effort. Ending the week with a solid solitary ride.
