Day 2

The second day of interbike brought many more toys and gadgets to me and the other attending the show this year. Now you are not supposed to ride any of the bikes inside the convention center, but you do get a chance to see many things that you will not see anywhere else.
Now that everything has moved inside I am on a mission to make contacts with as many people as I can pertaining to racing for the following season. So, first I wanted to make a trip around the whole show so I could figure out who might be where and the best plan of action. I was doing this while waiting for my coach Rick Crawford to arrive with his business partner Steve Owens. After walking around for about what felt like an hour I was realizing that I had not seen everything that there was to see, and actually was making a lopsided circle. After a short bit I rand into Rick and Steve and I walked with them for a bit they introduced me to as many guys as they could to help with contacts.
I know you are wondering what new things did I see at interbike that I thought were cool. Well there was this contraption that you put on the front wheel of a kids bike that has some gyroscopes inside. Make the front wheel look like a disc. Well with this wheel cover on the bike you don't need to put training wheels on a bike. This is because when the rider starts to fall left or right the wheel automatically corrects and steers into the fall and keep the rider upright. This give the rider more confidence and he/she learns to ride progressively and before you know it they don't need the contraption any longer. Jelly Belly has begun to put caffeine into some of their jelly beans, well I did not realize this at first when I grabbed a handful of their packs of jelly beans. I found this out when I at a hand full and pretty much was wide awake in about 5 minutes so I looked at the bag and sure enough there was caffeine in them. They worked so fast because I was sustaining myself during the show with power bar samples, Nuun drink samples and now Jelly Belly jelly beans. Not just any power bar though the new smoothie power bars that have come out.
Alot of the other new things were spin off of what is on the market now just lighter stronger etc. I did get a chance to play with the new Shimano stuff though and see the new Campy Super Record 11spd group. All I can say about the Campy stuff is Very Very nice!! I have always liked campy components. On the same note the new shimano group (non electric) does have some good improvements that make me like it more and more.
Once the show was over the Jack and Adams crew and myself were out to have a look around Vegas some more. The large water fountain show that happens every night on the strip is pretty cool I have to say.

Till next time
