Since I did not really have access to a computer at Interbike to give you updates along with the fact that I was not in the hotel room a whole lot. That is the reason for the post Interbike updates.
This post along with future posts that will be appearing on here will be a combination of stories of my adventure along with new products that I found. Now, there a good chance that the products will not have an official name since I did not write them down but do remember what they are and do.
First I would like to start of with a new product, that is small in size but could have significant impact for the consumer. The product is called "Grease Monkey Wipes". OK, so these are better than baby wipes because they have degreaser in them and they are mega portable. Each wipe 8"x7" is in its own self contained pouch at this stage of production. I found out about this product while having dinner with some friends about 1hr after arriving in Vegas. The inventors/creators of this product are from Austin, TX. I dig the idea b/c you can keep them in your cars glove box, saddle bag and or camel back etc. when riding so if you have to make a mechanical fix of the bike you can get the grease off before beginning to ride again and get your bars dirty. Especially if you are running the bling bling white bar tape.
My first impression of Vegas was "Crap I am not sure I want to stay here too long." There is way too many lights and people trying to pull you off the strip sidewalk and into their club/bar. Not to mention all the people slapping those cards and trying to hand them to you, but this was just first impressions. Luckily Vegas had a few more days to change my mind on what I thought of it. My impression did change a bit but you will find that out over the next few blog entries.
Till next Time
Matt
